The idea

Through play-filled exhibitions, hands-on learning, performances, displays, workshops, and ways yet to be invented, it will be a place of magic, wonder, curiosity and adventure, helping children to find, think, make, and show.

Content will evolve, be changed, re-arranged, re-assembled, adapted or added to by the children as they respond to what they find, creating and making things they want to show.

With children at its heart, the Museum will foster and support their cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Even better, when children and families get into child-centred activity, parents and their carers get closer to and learn about their children, as they explore the world and themselves.

There are over 400 children's museums worldwide and we plan to create the first of the next generation of these in London.

The Children’s Museum for London is a charity which is actively working to develop and open this exciting and much-needed offer for London’s families.
